Eurobus 2012 Review from Checkpoint Safety

From the 6th to the 8th November, Checkpoint Safety attended Eurobus Expo 2012, so without further ago here is our review of the show:

In terms of intensity and flow of human traffic, the show was ‘steady’, certainly not quiet. There were some impressive vehicle manufacturers there with stand space “BMC, King Long, Carrocerias Ayats, EvoBus (UK), Irizar, MAN Bus & Coach UK, Optare, Otokar, Scania (Great Britain), Sitcar, Temsa, UNVI, Van Hool, and VDL Bus and Coach”.

Some interesting positives to come out from the show, from Checkpoint Safety perspective:

1) Development of distributors within the bus and coach market
2) Development of relationships with major end users, and a key current distributor of Checkpoint Safety products
3) Our new Checkthread kit proved to be extremely popular, along with Checklink® and Checklock SQ® in particular – we had a vast amount of people visit our stand and praise our products, which was great to hear
4) We had representatives from Transport For London (TFL) visit our stand to discuss the products and their use on the bus companies in the London area
5) We also had a number of sales enquiries to help boost our ever growing presence in the bus and coach sector

Overall, the show could have been a lot more intense and at times there were quiet moments, however a major positive was that the ‘quality’ of attendee was absolutely top rate. There was a distinct lack of 'pen collectors' at the show and the vast majority of visitors to our stand had ‘manager’, ‘Owner’ and/or ‘Director’ within their title which was pleasant to see.

This was clearly echoed via other exhibitors - Show Director, Mark Griffin, says: “Feedback from exhibitors reflected the fact that the first day of the show was noticeably quieter than previous shows. However, I’m delighted that having taken the decision to exhibit, so many leading manufacturers and suppliers are reporting that overall, and from a business perspective, the show has been a success.” And Kevin Almond, National Sales Manager, Drinkmaster, says: “As ever this has been an excellent show, the quality of leads has been really excellent. In fact the business generated here on our stand has been quadruple our expectations.”. Show visitor numbers were around the same as the last show in 2010 (8,500 visitors).

Checkpoint Safety took a lot of positives from the show and look forward to attending more coach and bus shows in 2013 and beyond.
